HAPI Steel Tongue Drum - Origin - E or D

Our HAPI Origin Drum comes in deeper meditative scales.  To hear the strength of the lower deep tones, we recommend covering the bottom of the drum.  Sit the drum on a pillow or play the drum in your closed lap.  This directs the deep bass tones back up through the drum to you.  Great for music therapy, meditation, yoga. Recommended for beginner, intermediate, and advanced players.

The HAPI Origin Drum is available in 2 different pentatonic scales:

• E Major (E3, F#3, G#3, B3, C#4, E4, F#4, G#4)
• D Minor (D3, F3, G3, A3, C4, D4, F4, A4)

The word "pentatonic" comes from the Greek word pente meaning five and tonic meaning tone. It is a musical scale that consists of five notes within one octave. Because of their arrangement, pentatonic scales are often used to introduce beginners to music.

E Major Pentatonic. Very suitable for playing with guitar. The bells of the clock tower in London's Palace Westminster are tuned to this noble scale.

D Minor Pentatonic. This scale produces a soothing meditative sound. It sounds great with the HAPI Slim C Major, A Minor, G Major, or F Major scales. It also pairs up great with our HAPI Origin drum in the scale of E Minor. And it works well with our HAPI UFO drum which is in the full C Major scale.
